Hello everyone! My name is Priscilla Vazquez, but my friends call me Pri. I am a rising junior in Page House majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I was born in LA, but I was also partially raised in Mexico, specifically in a pueblo near the capital of Jalisco, Mexico. If you ever visit Mexico, make sure to stop by to admire the absolutely beautiful architecture and, of course, try the authentic food.
On campus, I am involved in identity based communities which led me to become Vice President of the QuestBridge club on campus. The club organizes a couple of social events a term to foster this specific community. I am also the Social Media Director of CHLA (Caltech Hispanic and Latino Association), which involves hosting fun and engaging cultural events for our Hispanic community to come together. Attending a couple of events freshman and sophomore year made me want to be a part of the planning committee, as to me, it is a way to share and appreciate my culture with everyone!
Outside of academics, I love building puzzles. I have finished many 1000-piece puzzles, and I am in the process of starting another 1000-piece puzzle that has world map is made out of flowers! I love exploring places to eat nearby in Pasadena and LA, and I am a fan of night markets especially. One of my favorite parts of the two years I have been at Caltech is the many concerts I have been to so far (planning the next already). My favorite ones have been Lil Uzi Vert and Aventura (band who broke up years ago and came together for one last tour). The Aventura concert is definitely the most fond to me. I grew up listening to their music, so seeing them reunite was amazing. I look forward to sharing more of my journey with you all. Have fun learning about Caltech!
