What’s up everyone! I’m Santiago Adams, and this year I’m starting work as both a blogger for the Caltech Admissions blog and as a tour guide on campus. I’m posting this to introduce myself and give everyone a sense of what I’m about before posting more content to the blog.
I grew up in Ardsley, New York, a suburb of New York City. I have always had an interest in STEM from a young age, and I came to Caltech originally to study physics. However, I really fell in love with mathematics here and have ended up pursuing that for my major. Additionally, I’ve greatly enjoyed my humanities classes here at Caltech and always look forward to taking ones that interest me.

Outside of academics, my biggest interest is music. Music has been a part of my life as long as I can remember, and I’ve always enjoyed both playing and listening to it. I listen to all kinds of music and try to get in as much new stuff as I can. This summer I’ve had Big Thief’s album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You on repeat as well as Lil Yachty’s Let’s Start Here.
I’m hoping to have a lot of fun with this blog over the coming years and get to give you all a sense of Caltech by describing both the big and little things that I love about it. Halfway through my time here I can honestly say it’s been some of the best years of my life, and there is a lot to share about what Caltech is like.
